Meijer Produce Team Leader - Columbus, Ohio area in Columbus, Ohio

Currently, Meijer is looking for a Produce Team Leader. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for ordering, receiving, stocking and display of produce and related product, maintaining department cleanliness, and providing customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • In charge of achieving sales labor and margin plan for department

  • Maintaining a friendly selling approach to customers that is in line with commitment to the Meijer Friendly program

  • Ordering product from authorized vendors and adhere to receiving policies and procedures

  • Receiving product deliveries, ensuring order and invoice accuracy

  • Preparing, packaging, stocking, store and display merchandise appropriately

  • Stocking (including washing, bundling and trimming), rotating, merchandise and face product according to department procedure

  • Disposing of culls according to department procedure

  • Ensuring all inferior out-of-code products are not sold and removed from display

  • Ensuring all products are accurately priced and sales prices are maintained and up-to-date

  • Maintaining back-stock areas according to department standards

  • Training other staff as needed

  • Ensuring team members sweep the Produce Department floor when needed but at least every 30 minutes completing the schedule and producing sweep log

  • Cataloging and coding invoices, if requested, according to procedure

  • Maintaining knowledge of produce, providing information to customers regarding use and preparation

  • Performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs
