Job Description Details:

In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Manager Blood Bank manages the daily operations of the blood bank to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.

​Responsibilities:

  • Exhibits each of the Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards holding self and others accountable and role modeling excellence for all to see.

  • Demonstrates friendliness and courtesy, effective communication creates a professional environment and provides first class service.

  • Holds self and others (Associates, Physicians and Volunteers) accountable for exhibiting each of the Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards.

  • Leadership Competencies

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree with a major in Medical Technology or other relevant clinical field

  • Licensure / Certification: Registration by HEW or ASCP as a Clinical Technologist required.

  • SBB (ASCP) licensure preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of five years of experience as a Medical Technologist or similar role including two years of experience in a blood blank.

  • Effective Communication Skills

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities including human relations skills, financial management abilities

  • Decision making skills

  • Problem-solving skills.
