We are currently seeking a Production Maintenance Manager within our Springfield Assembly Plant.

The Maintenance Manager’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the Maintenance Department

  • Preventive Maintenance scheduling and planning

  • Development and management of all maintenance KPI’s

  • Downtime reporting

  • Ensuring all BPD metrics are met through effective management of maintenance resources and budget adherence

  • Managing/Coaching/Developing direct reports ( both

  • Represented and Non-Represented)

  • Responsible for all decisions made regarding the maintenance of equipment and allocation of assigned resources

  • Determine when work is outsourced or completed in house

  • Capital project management, tracking and reporting

  • Assist other engineering leaders in LEAN implementation

  • Ensuring all safety process and rules are followed

Oversees the maintenance of production equipment. Maintains production equipment in a manner that meets company standards and ensures minimum equipment downtime.

Oversees technicians that repair and maintain the production and test equipment. Establishes and maintains preventive maintenance programs and procedures. Manages training programs to ensure proper operation, preventive maintenance, and repair programs and procedures. Maintains inventory and/or spare parts. Schedules manufacturing activities.

Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Provides leadership to Associate Managers, Supervisors and/or Professional Staff. Is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related units. Develops departmental plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities. Controls resources and policy formation in area of responsibility. Decisions are guided by resource availability and functional objectives. Identifies application of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to complex problems. Manages and provides guidance to large teams of professionals and/or supervisors within the latitude of established company policies with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and least 8 years of manufacturing experience, including production equipment maintenance experience

  • At least 2 years of management experience


  • At least 10 years of manufacturing experience, including production equipment maintenance experience

  • At least 2 years of management experience

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills:

  • Strong maintenance experience at the manager level, to include managing in a union environment

  • Experience tracking key metrics and responding to meet expectations

  • Experience with CMMS, usage and implementation

  • Experience in leading improvement efforts in maintenance reliability and preventative maintenance

  • Planning experience for daily maintenance, preventative maintenance, projects and plant shutdowns, position will work through shutdown
