Leads the analysis and design efforts forcomplex system design, systems analysis, and programming activities which require extensive research. Performs complex bug verification, release testing for assigned products. Reports directly to a Manager; provide team training/instruction and mentoring to junior developers.
Leads the analysis and design efforts forcomplex system design, systems analysis and programming activities. Performs design/redesign and implementation of multiple systems/sub-systems.
Follow standardized SDLC; prepares technical documentation of systems/sub-systems; conducts the required testing requirements.
Performs complex bug verification and release testing for newly implemented/altered systems.
Uses systematic approach to track development activity interdependencies and schedules; plans and schedules current activities; adapts as plans are changed due to changes in priorities and requirements.
Identify improvements needed in performance or functionality of familiar systems.
Interfaces effectively with both internal and external customers; delegates responsibilities to others; keeps the development team informed of independently made decisions.
Provides technical leadership to the development team by researching new technology or development tools; is current on activities within the department, company and industry.
Has greater interaction with clients; actively participates in presentations, technical demonstrations, etc.
Provides training/instruction and technical mentoring to the development team as required.
Selects appropriate development tools and defines coding standards to meet department needs.
Independently performs technical or functional research.
Manage 2-4 direct reports
Provide/coordinate off-hours production support
Facilitate cross-team communication of local and geographically dispersed development teams.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science; Minimum 5 years of technical experience in software development environment
Minimum 4 years of solid Oracle PL/SQL experience; Strong knowledge of SQL and performance tuning
Strong understanding of database design; transactional and data warehouse systems
Strong background in Unix environment, shell scripting
Proven technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation
Excellent research, analytical, and design skills at multi-system/sub-system level
Strong project planning and implementation skills
Strong understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance
Strong awareness of business issues as they impact overall project plans
Strong communications and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as a team leader, team member or individual contributor; exhibit initiative and be self-motivated
