Snap-on Tools Mgr., RCI (Rapid Continuous Improvement) in Richfield, Ohio
The RCI Manager partners with the business to effectively implement and sustain the RCI program. This role leads functional development of the business unit’s strategy deployment, identifies associated action plans and facilitates the execution of improvement projects by effectively applying LEAN and quality improvement tool and LEAN principles, skills and expertise.
Duties and Responsibilities
Facilitate strategy deployment (SD) planning and execution. Monitor and control SD action plans. Monitor metrics and initiate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Actions (CA) against off-target metrics.
Manage collection and communication of metrics and Key Business Indicators (KBI).
Generate and implement ideas to encourage associate engagement in RCI activity and to promote RCI as a positive part of SBS/Snap-on culture.
Facilitate RCI event planning and execution. Monitor and control event action plans and track/report savings associated with the event.
Achieve organizational RCI savings targets via cost savings and/or KBI improvements.
Facilitate implementation of RCI initiatives which reduce cost and/or time or improve service and/or quality.
Champions 80/20 initiatives to achieve business simplification.
Educates, trains, coaches and re-enforces RCI philosophy and application of tools.
Teams with management, associates and outside resources to improve critical processes and/or procedures.
Maintains RCI reporting mechanisms (action item status, payback, metrics, trainings delivered).
Leads and coordinates efforts to maintain ISO certification and/or other organizational quality initiatives. Ensures maintenance of ISO 9001 level of documentation for any process or procedure resulting from an RCI effort.
Ensures maintenance, development and improvement of RCI training modules.
Supports Snap-on Corporate continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitors for consistent application of RCI practices and processes across all SBS locations.
Bachelor’s degree in finance or business administration
Experience in multiple operational and administrative areas of business
Fundamental understanding of LEAN principles – LEAN certification(s) preferred
Fundamental understanding of Root Cause Analysis, process mapping and problem solving
Some experience with ISO and quality documentation
