Responsible for the accurate inventory and distribution of a wide array of medical/surgical products.
The Store room associate is responsible for inventorying and replenishing supply carts/cabinets in assigned nursing and ancillary departments utilizing computer based inventory/supply systems.
The Store room associate is responsible for accurately filling computer generated stock requests for various departments and using appropriate delivery means (pneumatic tube, personal delivery, courier) to ensure end user receipt.
The Store room Associate participates in on going cycle counts and inventory maintenance as well as annual or semiannual inventory activities.
The Associate utilizes appropriate communications devices (telephone, pager, portable phone) to communicate with various departments about supply needs.
The Associate may be assigned to other supply chain functions with appropriate training as organizational needs dictate. (Receiving, mail, print shop, courier etc.)
Duties are generally performed in a pleasant climate controlled area with minimal exposure to extremes of temperature or noise. (Courier duties involve extensive outdoor/driving duties in a climate -controlled vehicle Print shop may involve noise from copier machines
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Ability to push/pull flat bed carts and pallets.
Valid Ohio Driver license with a driving record which allows the organizations insurance carrier to extend coverage.
Basic mathematical skill and ability to read write and understand moderately complex instructions.
Ability to use the appropriate organization computer systems, beepers, phones, cell phones.
Educational level normally attained through completion of a high school diploma. Previous supply, inventory or hospital experience preferred.
Exposure to dust, noise, and temperature. Significant concentration and ability to pay close attention to detail (up to 80% of work time.) required.
Substantial physical effort required standing, walking, bending, lifting, sorting, driving (92-95% of work time.)
Moderate stress due to fast pace and the possibility of emergency situations occurring. Extensive lifting (05-50 lbs.)
Finger dexterity and hand coordination required.
Requires work on a variety of shifts.
Full-time, 40 hours per week, days, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
