Description:
The Senior Security Engineer is responsible for providing advanced engineering and technical support for all security tools and initiatives. Design, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains company security and network equipment. The role will support the direction of corporate security and infrastructure governance strategies. Reports to Manager of IT Compliance and Disaster Recovery. No direct reports.
* Ensures that appropriate security considerations and industry-standard best practices are applied to all aspects of the corporate environment and infrastructure
* Supports requests and incidents from internal customers
* Responsible for ownership of assigned tickets/incidents until resolved or escalated
* Lead team initiatives, manage deliverables and schedules
* On-going research and strategic planning
* Creation of detailed process documentation
* Provides direction to other security engineers, including appropriate mentoring and coaching
* Provides second/third level support and maintenance
* Participate in technical design of new projects to ensure CIA objectives
* Involvement in assigned IT and business projects
* Participation in on-call rotation
* Responsible for assigned project deliverables
Requirements:
* 8+ years of IT infrastructure-related experience including in-depth knowledge of network security, event monitoring and correlation, forensic analysis, cryptology, identity and access management, access controls, risk assessment, application development, system security, end-user support, system administration, and environmental security with expertise in at least four of these categories
* Experience in penetration testing
* Experience with the following (or equivalent products/OS): LogLogic, Splunk, Vormetric, TrendMicro, Akamai, Symantec DLP, Qualys Guard, IBM Rational AppScan, wireless networking, Service Now, Windows 2007, Solaris 9 or above, AIX 5.3, or Redhat ES 4 or above
* Understanding of OSI model and the role security plays within the stack
* Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows-based operating systems
* Strong knowledge of Cisco and Juniper networking
* Working knowledge of LAN, WAN, NAC, and VPN technologies
* Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley, PII, and Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements
* Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
* Able to promptly answer support-related email, phone call and other electronic communications
* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, strong time management and task prioritization
* Ability to evaluate data and perform root cause analyses
* Troubleshoots intermediate to complex problems and recommends appropriate action
* Prioritizes tasks and communicates status; recognizes and escalates risk and issues
* Is able to plan and manage small-scale projects within ad-hoc teams
* Analytical thought processes with an ability to clearly communicate those insights
* Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, OneNote, Project
* Experience in large-enterprise, multi-vendor , e-commerce environments
* Experience desired with common scanning and pen testing methodologies
* Experience desired with industry-standard encryption methodologies and key management principles
* Completes tasks without management supervision
* Accurately updates documents
* Open minded and willing to accept directional changes Additional software development experience is desirable
* Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university with an emphasis in computer science is required
* Security and/or Network certification required i.e. CISSP, CISM, GSEC, CCNA, CCDA, CCNP
