Summary of Duties:

The Security Specialist will access, communicate and reconcile findings for the vulnerability management program (scanning emediation) and data loss prevention programs (DLP). This also position will also assist the Assistant IT Director of Security with the production of work product for risk assessments and audits, as well as remediating findings from audits.

The analyst will work closely with team members, enterprise security and departmental security initiatives. The analyst will be responsible for assisting with the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the University’s Enterprise Security “Information Security Control Requirements” as well as the Payment Card Industry’s Data Security Standards requirements (PCI-DSS) for our credit card processing environments.

Additionally, the Security Specialist will assist in supporting other security program functions such as continuous monitoring, risk management and responding to ad hoc support calls. The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical background with a desire to learn and be involved in the information security program.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree; experience with the following systems, or industry equivalent systems; Vulnerability Scanning Tools (Tenable Nessus, Qualys..etc.); Endpoint Protection Suites (Symantec Enterprise Protection Manager..etc.); Data Loss Prevention solutions (Identity Finder, Symantec..etc); two years of experience in an IT role; 1-2 years of Information Security program exposure or knowledge of Information Security concepts; experience with Windows Client and Server Operating Systems, Mac OSX; general knowledge of Client-Server applications, web based applications, VPNs, Firewalls; understanding of security logging concepts; knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP, plus commonly used ports.

Target Salary: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 Annually
