Huntington National Bank Project Manager in Columbus, Ohio

The IT Project Manager provides project management and delivery of technology and business initiatives. This role is responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of assigned projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. The Project Manager will utilize the Huntington's Project Management Methodology in the creation of full scale project plans for execution of project goals and strategies.

Detailed Description:

  • Manages routine to highly complex information technology projects associated to the data warehouse by assembling cross-functional teams to identify and successfully complete all project activities. Cross functional teams may include technology, operations, compliance, marketing, finance, etc.

  • Coordinates projects with vendors and other bank departments/affiliates, manages within approved project budget and schedule.

  • May serve as project manager or department "coordinator" reporting to a Sr. Project Manager for interrelated initiatives.

  • Creates and maintains the full spectrum of project documentation as defined by the Project Management Methodology.

  • Leads infrastructure or software implementation projects.

  • Assume other duties/projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree- Information Science and Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a project manager

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly analytical with demonstrated success in creative problem solving. Must have basic skills in program management, systems analysis and project management, and strategic planning.

  • Experience in developing or leading technology projects is required.

  • Experience in bank services and finance IT is a plus.

  • Proven ability to initiate and facilitate change, whether indicated by corporate needs, market or regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to provide project leadership during periods of uncertainty, ambiguity, and dramatic change.

  • Excellent communication skills. Comfortable and effective in speaking to both business and technology resources.

  • Ability to coordinate effective teams and create an environment of collaboration and commitment. Able to work as part of a team as well as independently - and with people of diverse backgrounds.

  • Possess good judgment, ability to accept responsibility and handle highly confidential information.

  • A self-starter with the ability to make decisions, work independently, apply creative solutions, and set and handle multiple and competing priorities.

  • Familiarity with a wide variety of project management and business analysis tools
