Summary of Duties:

The Program Coordinator works as part of a team to coordinate daily administrative operations for the Center for Languages, Literatures and Cultures (CLLC). The CLLC Program Coordinator works closely with faculty and staff in the language and culture departments within the College of Arts and Sciences on a variety of projects and programs in support of foreign language and culture academic programs. The Coordinator identifies best practices and implements process improvements to promote efficiency and quality in the center’s operations. The coordinator responds to inquiries from students, faculty, and the public; and assists with special projects. In collaboration with the CLLC Assistant Director, the individual holding this position coordinates the annual foreign language GTA training workshop held prior to the start of autumn semester.

The individual in this position coordinates summer orientation foreign language placement testing and other scheduled placement testing in French, Spanish, German, Swahili, Italian, Arabic and Hebrew. The Coordinator serves as central contact for questions related to language credit and validation information for advisors and other areas at Ohio State. The Coordinator manages reporting and works with technology team on placement testing development.

The CLLC Program Coordinator will work closely with the CLLC Director to develop and implement strategies to cultivate relationships with community organizations and workplaces. The Coordinator will assist in identifying growth opportunities and developing innovative outreach programs in the areas of language and culture, which may include service-learning courses, grant-funded programs, and building other community partner relationships.

The CLLC Program Coordinator will serve as the Building Coordinator for Hagerty Hall.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; considerable experience with MS Office; program planning and administration experience.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience developing and coordinating community programs; work experience in language instruction or program coordination; knowledge of university policies and procedures.

Target Salary: $19.23 - $21.64 Hourly
