Huntington National Bank Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) Quantitative Analyst in Columbus, Ohio
As an MSR (Mortgage Servicing Rights) Quantitative Analyst within Corporate Treasury's Balance Sheet Management (BSM) team, you will conduct business-driven reporting and analysis, and identify opportunities for process improvements that have a direct impact on the business. You will work with various members of the Finance, Treasury, and Home Lending teams in order to develop ways to best model and value the MSR asset and its related hedge instrument.
Solve business problems by developing practical solutions through the application of quantitative methods.
Compile and analyze large volumes of data to provide reporting and trending of key performance indicators to senior management on a daily basis in a timely manner. Partnering with Home Lending, Treasury, and enterprise data teams to provide insights and identify data inconsistencies for a robust and comprehensive MSR valuation and analysis.
Key reporting includes, but is not limited to: Market value and volatility attributions, daily multiple calculations, Key Rate Shocks, Principal Component Analysis, and semi-annual Capital Stress Testing.
Generate daily market value measurement and produce accounting entries for FAS156 on a monthly basis.
Drive and own market value measurements and monitoring, further enhancing BSM's analytics and risk measurement activities to support Executive ALCO and other risk committees.
Identify process improvements within analytics, challenging existing processes where needed, and develop and implement a best practice MSR valuation and modeling approach.
Maintain, validate and document the assumptions and models used in the QRM MSR module per Huntington's Model Validation Policies and Model Risk Management oversight.
Translate high-level or operational business needs into appropriate actionable analyses.
Support BSM team with other valuation related duties as needed.
Quantitative analysis experience, through education, internships or work.
QRM software experience is preferred.
Some experience using Asset Liability Management software and analytical tools.
Through education, internships or work, prefer modeling and control testing experience.
Through education, internships or work, must have an understanding of off-balance sheet hedging, mortgage related assets and their impact on the market.
Project oriented with the ability and desire to analyze complex processes and data, identify and bring forward challenges and potential solutions, create tracking, maintain reports, and communicate findings.
Convey a personable, assertive, and professional communication style with a comfort level engaging others and speaking with all levels of individuals.
