SUMMARY:

The Application Business Analyst (ABA) is responsible for ensuring that our technical solutions meet user needs with quality. They will work closely with the business community in order to understand the direction of the company and how IT can help the business partners achieve their objectives. The analyst will advise on new solutions and functionality enhancements. They must understand the impact a system change may have on a business process, and conversely, the impact that a business process change might have on the system. The analyst will help drive and assist through the entire SDLC through the release and project cycles: understand and document requirements, develop test scripts, work with the developers to ensure the requirements and scripts are fully understood, configurations and setups, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, develop training material and deliver training. The ABA will provide functional support for currently deployed Oracle applications, and must also be familiar with other modules/functionality available but not currently in use.

This role will be specific to the IT Human Resources/Payroll team initially, with intent to also support other back office modules (Supply Chain, Finance).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Has in-depth knowledge of applications supported: current functionality, planned functionality, pain-points, workarounds, impacts, timetables, etc.

  • Manages the research, resolution, and escalation of business and system issues.

  • Meets with business partners to understand current system needs, future goals and help establish realistic timetables for completion.

  • Facilitates/Executes efforts related to system changes (configurations/setups, testing, etc.).

  • Develops necessary documentation associated with recommended business system changes.

  • Assists in the development of training materials and provide training to new users.

  • Meets with internal IT staff to communicate/educate the businesses’ desired system changes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Thorough knowledge of business processes and Oracle eBusiness Suite R12 to support HR & Payroll functions. Includes but not limited to: Core HR, Payroll, Self Service HR, 3rdparty integrations, reporting, patch releases.

  • Understanding of Oracle flex fields, workflow, setup and profile options. Understanding of multi-organization and multi-currency functionality.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Strong understanding of business requirements and needs

  • Desire and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and with cross functional departments

  • Ability to handle conflict, remain professional and analytical in stressful support situations

  • Working knowledge of query tools (PL/SQL, Toad, SQL Developer)

  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience

  • 7 to 10 years of Oracle eBusiness Suite functional experience
