Assists with monthly closings including data allocations and balancing.
Compiles, consolidates and analyzes accounting and finance information for the production of statements, schedules, filings and reports of a moderately complex nature. Assists in the preparation of more complex reports.
Responsible for the maintenance of complete and accurate general and subsidiary ledgers for the accounts or department(s) assigned.
Analyzes organization financial data for input in the review and evaluation of existing procedures and operations in assigned area for input into management decision-making regarding improvements.
Reconciles and adjusts, as necessary, journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
Coordinates accounting matters and reporting with other departments, locations, divisions and external customers.
Supports customers with various requests and collaborate with other departments, including:
Developing adhoc reports in Cognos and possibly other reporting tools
Provide management with detailed schedules to support results
Communicate with other departments to obtain pertinent information
Work with internal and outside auditors with requested support information
Additional duties involved:
Work with actuaries to ensure the proper booking of estimated losses
Review various monthly reports and provide explanations for reported results
Process miscellaneous accounts for entry to association system
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
2 to 4 years of related experience. Insurance accounting experience preferred.
