The Admissions Advisor reports to the Enrollment Management Coordinator up through the Director of Finance and Enrollment Services. The Admissions Advisor will help assess, organize and support college-wide admissions and advising efforts. The role will be responsible for college admissions, recruiting and admission events, andfirst year advising. The Admissions Advisor will also be responsible for retaining new and continuing students in course selection and curriculum planning, monitoring student progression toward degree completion, collaborating with the Registrar's office on issues that arise in advising and registration,and referring students to appropriate campus resources. The Admissions Advisor will also plan, implement, and evaluate policies related to student recruitment, admissions, and advising.


  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline Master's degree preferred.

  2. Experience in a related area (enrollment services, admissions, advising, recruiting, etc.) preferred.

  3. Student-centered approach to service, program development, and problem-solving

  4. Ability to establish and assess outcomes for advising services

  5. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person with a variety of constituencies.

  6. Contribution to team effort in support of college and division goals

  7. Availability for early morning, evening or weekend hours as needed

  8. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database applications

  9. Basic working knowledge of financial aid processes.

  11. Flexibility with the work schedule which may include evenings and weekends as needed.


  1. Coordinates and participates in college recruitment activities and initiatives as well as assisting in the development of an annual recruitment calendar.

  2. Ensure that data integrity is maintained in all aspects of the Enrollment Management function.

  3. Responsible for student retention initiatives in collaboration with college leadership

  4. Advise new and continuing students in all college programs

  5. Promote academic progress and degree completion

  6. Provide assistance to students making decisions on program and career opportunities

  7. Conduct individual and group advising sessions

  8. Collaborate with financial aid to ensure that prospects and new students receive timely information and service.

  9. Collaborate with the student affairs coordinator to ensure that new student orientation programs are effective and meaningful.

  10. Collaborate with marketing and recruiter to ensure that Information Sessions are well designed to attract prospective students and that publications (electronic and print) are current and accurate.

  11. Collaborate with the Registrar to ensure that new student registration sessions are well organized and efficient.

  12. Collaborate with the retention team to identify barriers for individual student success and plan for interventions as appropriate

  13. Participate in the formulation and administration of relevant policies and the enrollment management plan.

  14. Maintain professional memberships that support the Enrollment Management function (e.g., OACRAO, OASFAA, OACAC etc.)

  15. Promote by example the spirit and practice of excellent, timely customer service and respect for the privacy of others.

  16. Maintain enrollment statistics regarding students and prospects.

  17. Update Admissions portion of website, college catalog, and student handbook as needed.

  18. Complete other duties as assigned.
